Different cultures bring different ways of life, and what could be better than display this variation than through the medium of humorous road signs? Here’s my top 10 but you'll notice below i've added a few more in for fun.
African road sign shack
Poverty is a destructive force that affects billions of people around the world, and while I understand people need to live in a weather-tight environment, I think this is probably taking it a bit too far. The genius behind this road sign shack is monumental; you have to wonder where all the signs came from.
I’d like to think this shack is located next to a motorway and confused motorists are continually taking the wrong exit thanks to some chaps’ ingenious solution to homely decoration.
Vehicle road closed
Hmm, at first this picture doesn’t look that stupid, but if you look closer you’ll find that it’s actually bolted to the underside of the car. Seriously, where’s the point? If you want to carry stuff use a pick-up, don’t just start bolting random items underneath your car.
Pure idiocy
This is the perfect example of when councils spend money for the sake of it. We’re all at the submission of the cutbacks; councils are skint, we’re all skint and we all have to sacrifice, but the dumbasses with the big wigs still manage to spend our money on unbelievably stupid tricks like this.
If anyone can conjure up a reason why this sign exists, I’m listening.
Pointless
You’re laughing, right? I thought so. Just do yourself a favour and imagine the board meeting in which this sign was conceived. Surely there was a few CEOs, a few clever people with degrees and a few people with IQs over 85, so how in the hell did they all agree to commission this?
Britain is screwed. This is contradiction at its ironic best.
Beware! Ooooh
You know the score, you’re travelling down a road in your car and you see a bear, a squirrel and an alligator – you’re scared. You know those dangerous animals could be feasting upon your caucus in the time it takes to lose control of your vehicle. Just take it slow and you’ll be ok. Wait. What’s that?
It’s a sign that reads “Beware of road” – THANK THE LORD. We’re all saved. The sign has saved us from certain death of the asphalt variety.
Bird watching
I wonder whether the designers of this sign were aware that birds can’t read. They’re also pretty oblivious to graphic signs with a big no entry mark over a picture of one of its mates. Seriously, who comes up with these signs?
Stop! Wait. Move. Left. Right.
Basically, this sign is as pedantic as any mothering mother. If you look carefully, you’ll realise the only way to adhere to the sign’s requests is to stay completely still. Which rather misses the point of driving, doesn’t it?
You can’t go left, right, forward, backward and you have to stop. You’re going to be stuck there forever!
Backs to the wall!
Just broke down? Fancy a drink, maybe a good conversation with some passers-by? Just make sure you don’t do any of the above at Bumpass Hell. If you’re heterosexually-inclined, you’re probably better staying inside your car.
Enter the duck!

Damn those grannie-killing, venom spitting, cow murdering, cold blooded sinning ducks. They’ve become the human race’s downfall since they became sick of us feeding them mouldy pieces of bread, and now they’re after our motorists!

We’ve all been there; you’re stuck in traffic and all you can see is one of those matrix signs over the motorway. Just imagine being able to control one for a biblical traffic jam. You could cause mayhem and anger thousands. Brilliant.
I take my hat off to the genius who manipulated this sign. What can be more enjoyable than a bit of ‘na-na-na-naaa’ fun poking towards your fellow motorists?
