The Worlds Most Expensive Car Crashes All In One Place. Drivers Of The Following Vehicles Hang Your Head In Shame.
“With great power comes great responsibility” - Famous words, indeed, but while they may be iconic, there is quite a lot of truth in those few words. When you apply the saying to supercars and their drivers, it makes even more sense, as people who buy supercars, typically, are rich multi-millionaires who have the driving talent of Maureen from Driving School. They aren’t used to 500bhp connected to a dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox, they’re not ready for oversteer and air-braking, and they’re certainly not familiar with 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds. So for all the rich people out there who have just bought their first supercar, here are some pictures of the most expensive car crashes ever, just to keep you on your toes.
Bugatti EB110:
The Bugatti EB110 is a rare car even for the world of supercars. Very few people have even heard of it, never mind seen one on the road, and that’s probably because this quad-turbocharged early ‘90s monster was ridiculously expensive when new.
This crash caused around $500,000 to fix and about 10 years of therapy to get over for the driver. It’s proof that money doesn’t buy skill.

Mercedes Benz SL300:
Oooo and it was such a pretty car, as well. The Mercedes Benz SL300 is probably one of the finest looking cars ever made, so it makes this image even more depressing when you realise just what is was. Kanye West managed to bring the SL into the 21st century with his video for Diamonds back in 2005, but even before the hip-hop genius brought it to the kids of today, the SL has been king of cool for decades.
What a damn shame.

Jaguar XJ220:
Jaguar isn’t famed for its supercar building, but believe it or not, they did make one in the late 1980s and it was bloody brilliant. The Jaguar XJ220 once held the world record for fastest production car for a brief moment – and then in came the McLaren F1. But for those few years the XJ220 really did set the bench mark for what a supercar is capable of. Shame then, that this guy managed to shunt his into a lamp-post.

McLaren F1 GTR:
The standard road-going McLaren F1 is a pretty insane car capable of over 240mph and 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds. It’s also very light, but when the McLaren engineers decided to make an F1 for racing, they managed to make it so light it was basically air-worthy.
Take a look at this video and just feel for the driver, who, for a few seconds, was effectively flying a Boeing McLaren F1.
Lots of F1 cars at Spa 1998:
Described as the worst Formula 1 car in history, it’s a miracle how nobody was killed during this mega crash at Spa in 1998. The monsoon and low visibility meant that several F1 cars tangled together causing biblical amounts of expense for the respective teams.
Thank the lord for Jackie Stewart and the rest of the pioneering safety officials in F1.
Ferrari Enzo:
Supercars tend to cost upwards of around £100,000, but some cost far more than that. Take the £500,000 Ferrari Enzo, for example. This 600bhp supercar was sold in small numbers, was classed as Ferrari’s finest effort for decades and was only sold to customers who were ‘worthy’. Quite a car then - and quite a repair bill for the idiot who did this.

Bugatti Veyron:
Apologies for the lads behind the camera and their lack of supercar knowledge, but this video really is worth a watch. If you love cars too much, ignore this one, but if you’re a bit sadistic, please press play. The Veyron driver somehow manages to fail at life and park his £800,000 mega car in a lake.
I tell you, it is things like this that make us hate people with money. What a waste.
Ferrari 250 GT Spyder:
Noooooooooooo!!!!! Noooooooooooo!!!!!!! Nooooooooo!!!!!!! What else can you say? It’s all well and good laughing at the drivers’ fail, but when they ruin such rare classics as Ferrari 250s then it really does get you angry.
There is no god.

Ferrari 250 GTO:
GTO in Ferrari language basically means “best of the best”. And the 250 GTO is probably THE definitive Ferrari. It’s one of the rarest, expensive and most collectable, which just makes this picture so depressing. Damn the world, damn the driver and damn the world!

Pagani Zonda:
The Zonda is one of the most popular modern day supercars. It looks great, sounds incredible and is faster than Gandhi in slippers, but the speed combined with the sheer size of the thing can make for a dangerous mixture. This guy proved a lot can go wrong in a Zonda if you lack the talent of Lewis Hamilton.
