Now I’m a fully fledged driver, I’ve noticed how much money my car is costing me. Maybe even more then when I was learning.

I drive to University most days, which means I’m using about £40 of petrol every week (my Uni is about 30 miles from where I live) Two or three years ago I would have got by on £30.

This afternoon the stunning Ferrari FF was snapped in the secluded Cheshire village of Alderley Edge by an eagle eyed Netcars.com fan.

The car, pictured outside Panacea nightclub, looks all of the £250,000 asking price and as quoted by our fan "looks more beautiful in the flesh than Angelina Jolie on a good day." The question is - who's got their hands on this fine machine?

Last week Sir Frank Williams stepped down from the board of Williams F1, 35 years after founding the team in a disused carpet warehouse in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

He remains as team principle and will no doubt still be a huge presence in the pitlane but it is another step in what he calls the “gradual but inevitable process of handing over the reins”.

Is the glass half full or half empty? The aforementioned phrase is an idiom of the English language which serves as a metaphorical litmus test to determine the world view of a certain participant.

Should the participant choose to side with the half empty option, they would be branded pessimistic. However should they subscribe to the half full perspective, they would be delighted to hear about their confirmed optimistic outlook.

Now I know this is normally meant to be about Formula 1 in 2012, however I feel it is important that we look back at significant teams/people/developments that have made the sport what it is and taken it from a very dangerous sport, to a sport that has not seen a fatality for 17 years.

It is not immune to fatality though and it is important to remember that Formula 1 is a dangerous sport as is any form of motorsport. So let’s start off with important teams.
