Now I’m a fully fledged driver, I’ve noticed how much money my car is costing me. Maybe even more then when I was learning.

I drive to University most days, which means I’m using about £40 of petrol every week (my Uni is about 30 miles from where I live) Two or three years ago I would have got by on £30.

So after much deliberation on my part I decided to complete the Pass Plus course. I won’t talk about all the six modules I completed, instead I’ll just focus on the two I enjoyed the most, motorway driving and driving in the country.

Rachel Boothroyd - Learner Driver Blog

The Pass Plus is made up of six modules. These are town driving, out of town driving, motorway driving, dual carriageway driving, all weather driving and dark driving.

Hopefully this winter will continue to be kinder to us in terms of the weather. I know it has been very windy but so far it hasn’t snowed much in England yet.

We all remember the heavy snowfall that blighted a lot of areas last year. Schools were closed, businesses couldn’t open and only a few brave people ventured out onto the roads.

So as promised, here’s part two of my guide to cars in the Twilight Saga. There’s a further five cars, but again all this information comes from the Twilight Saga Illustrated Guide.

Carlisle, who is Edward’s dad in the series, owns a Mercedes S55 AMG. Carlisle’s car is black, has a huge 5.4 litre supercharged V8 engine, can go from 0-40 in 4.5 seconds, and the horsepower is 469 at 6100rpm.

If you’re a twihard (lover of all things Twilight) like me, you can’t fail to have noticed all the publicity surrounding the new film Breaking Dawn Part One. Now don’t worry, this isn’t a blog post about Twilight. Instead it’s a blog post about the cars in Twilight.

Rachel Boothroyd - Learner Driver Blog

It’s one of the lesser known facts about the series that almost all the main characters have their own vehicle, so here’s a rundown of the best ones. All the information comes from The Twilight Saga The Official Illustrated Guide.

That is the question I’ve been asking myself now that I’ve passed my test. My instructor does offer Pass Plus so I don’t have to worry about finding a teacher who can teach me.

Rachel Boothroyd - Learner Driver Blog

The thing that is putting me off though is the cost. At £150, it’s a lot of money for six one hour lessons. Also I have done driving on dual carriageways, dark driving and all weather driving already!

Apologies for the caps locks, I’m just very happy at the moment. I only got four minors and the manoeuvre I got was my best one (bay park.)

Rachel Boothroyd - Learner Driver Blog

I actually should have got a reverse around the corner apparently but my examiner told me to drive on rather on then telling me to do the manoeuvre. So someone up there likes me. But I digress. I best start at the beginning.

This is because it’s my best manoeuvre and the one that I have had to practice least to get right. That’s not to say I don’t make mistakes on it, but I probably make the least. Here’s how I do it. (with thanks to Cambridge Driving School

I had my driving test today and unfortunately I didn’t pass. I only got six minor but I got four majors as well.

The strange thing is that I probably would have passed if the test lasted half an hour, because it was only in the last ten minutes of the 40 I was in the car for that my errors occurred. They weren’t dangerous faults thankfully. They were just silly mistakes that you only do in a test situation.
