ALFA ROMEO SPRINT 1.5 Cloverleaf 3dr (1987)

The Alfa Romeo Sprint - worth all the effort in the end.

First let me get this straight... the Alfa Romeo Sprint is THE best car I've ever driven. Feisty, powerful and sexy... and that's just the sound of the engine. But all good things come at a price and the price I had to pay throughout my time owning my Spirit was very high indeed.

I'll tell you a few of the things that went wrong with her: windows would never open in the back, occasionally in the front, the hatch pull broke, the gasket blew, the rev counter and speedometer both broke... I'll stop there - the memories are too painful.

But don't let that make you think that it wasn't worth it. The Alfa Romeo Sprint is absolutely beautiful to drive. The handling is better than any other car I've driven and the power under the bonnet is not to be underestimated. My Sprint and I had some amazing drives and I don't think she ever meant to let me down. But talk about high-maintainance...
