ASIA ROCSTA 2.2 Diesel 2dr (1994)

Asia Rocsta - a relic from the Orient.

A very interesting relic from the years when the 4x4 market was finding its feet in Europe, my Asia Rocsta is probably the most bizarre-looking thing I own, aside from my polar bear rug whose eyes seem to follow me around the room. Yes, it's somewhere at the back of one of my garages gathering dust, but I had some jolly good times in the Asia Rocsta and I think it could be worth a pretty penny now, purely for novelty value.

The Asia Rocsta looks a bit like the front cab of a sixteen-wheeler and it drives just as characteristically, bouncing around noisily and fairly useless on the road. The steering I remember being quite abhorrent to me, rather unresponsive considering the type of driving one could expect to be doing in it. I think that if I drove this nowadays I would probably injure myself and find the draughtiness intolerable.

However it is certainly an interesting car, and as someone with a certain soft spot for South Korean motoring I am certainly glad to own it. I would advise against anyone approaching forty buying one as the novelty will wear off far too soon.
