Choosing an Audi A8 isn't the obvious choice for most people. The obvious way to go is a BMW 5 or 7-series, or a Merc C or E-class, but I just didn't like any of them on test. The A8 always spoke to me in a way that the others didn't.

The boot in the Audi A8 is huge, the interior quality is outstanding and the performance is respectable. You feel cocooned in the cabin with luxurious leather and wood scattered about; it really is a nice place to be. There's plenty of toys that work every single time and are very easy to use, and the seats are more than comfortable for long journeys.

If you're careful you can achieve over 50mpg on the combined run - which just adds to his car's appeal. If you want understated elegance, then the Audi A8 will do that in a heartbeat.
