The Dodge Avenger - no Viper

When I heard I was looking at a Dodge I wasn't really sure I heard it right as I associate the name with sports cars with stripes on them. But the Dodge Avenger frankly looks rather ugly to me. What's it about? Kind of boxy. But hey it goes pretty well and it hasn't let me down yet.

The 2.0 diesel (my model) is a pretty nice drive, if a little noisy. It feels nicely weighted and has a heavy, satisfying feel to it. I heard the engine comes from VW so that's probably why the Dodge Avenger is so reliable. The gearbox guides the car pretty well through its paces and it accelerates well.

That's the technical part over with - now I can tell you how horrible I think it looks. Inside it's not much better either. It's the motoring equivalent of a white suit with shoulder pads and the sleeves rolled up - it looks out of date. But I don't resent that as the performance and handling more than make up for it.
