FIAT X19 1500 Sports 2dr (1986)

The Fiat X19 - great fun but hasn't aged well.

I have to say that my Fiat X19 really makes me appreciate the sunny weather. The moment that the sun peeks out of the clouds I jump into my car, take off the roof panel and cruise along the beach... heaven! Unfortunately we don't get a lot of sun in Britain and the rest of the time I realise that I have a pretty substandard sports car that doesn't work all that well.

I thought the X19 was really reliable at first but then certain parts started to corrode, like the coolant pipes running underneath the car. This was not cheap to fix. Then the clutch started to play up and needed to be serviced pretty regularly. And I have a lot of trouble with the aforementioned roof panel, too.

Otherwise, I will say that the Fiat X19 is good in principle - it certainly accelerates quicker than most cars out there and it is great fun to drive. Just be wary if you're planning on buying one as they are getting on a bit now. be very careful with regards to rust.
