FORD SIERRA 1.6 L 4dr (1987)
The Ford Sierra - one of Britain's most successful cars.
This was really weird-looking car when it came out but it doesn't seem quite so weird now. The shape was quite unique when it came out but there are so many of these things about these days that it just blends into the landscape of normal cars. One of the cars that really helped cement Ford's name as a market leader. I had mine for a long long time and it served me and my family very well indeed.
I had a few problems with this model throughout my time with it but that's fair enough I think. The amazing thing is how cheaply and easily these problems can be sorted. I had an entire new exhaust system fitted for about 60 quid. The rear-wheel drive system gives the Ford Sierra a pretty unique feel in the driving seat as these days there aren't a lot of rear-wheel drive cars about. Personally I loved this aspect of it.
Avoid turbo models as chances are they've been donutted around one car park too many. Take a look at the sunroof too, as I know a few of my friends had leaking problems too. Other than that, don't worry about it - this is a very reliable and extremely common car.
