JAGUAR XJR 4.0 Supercharged 4dr (1994)

Almost Perfect Jarguar XJR

The Jaguar XJR is a brilliant car, a classic, with very few things wrong with it. Perhaps none, if you take it for what it is - a sports car. Maybe I should try and find a flaw or two.

Well I suppose it's not designed purely as a sports car so you might want a bit more room in the back. There are a few problems with it in terms of reliability but this true of almost any car. If you are looking around for one be aware of a few things - the electrics can be a problem, the alloys are prone to rust and timing chains sometimes start to rattle. Don't worry about these things though because they can all be sorted out. What can't be sorted out so easily is the water pump as these are no longer in production.

The Jaguar XJR 4.0 is a really solid, beastly sort of British sporty car though, I am trying purposefully to find problems with it only to emphasise the fact that there are so few problems with it. What a shame that Jaguar went out of business as they are one of the great legends of motoring.
