LAND ROVER FREELANDER 2 2.2 Td4 SE 5dr (2006)

'It's not me - it's all the others'

Finally - proof that loyalty pays? Having experienced the lows of early petrol Freelanders with their propensity to blow engines and cease operating, the F2 is finally the car that F1 should have been.

Although the earlier TD4 engines were good, the F2 diesel is lively and reasonably economical. Most reviews rightly give the impression that F2 is a totally different vehicle, better in pretty much all respects, and certainly more akin to a junior RR than than its slightly agricultural forbears

Only gripes so far are very minor - storage space a bit limited, sat nav counter-intuitive etc.

Sold the old Freelander TD4 to a Polish guy who was buying up dozens of 'em for conversion to LH drive. Apparently Poles will pay a premium for (clocked?) LRs, on the basis that, according to my buyer " they yet don't know they're sh*t" .

Perhaps a tad harsh, Terrance, but hopefully the F2 will go some way to restoring LR's somewhat tranished reputation.
