LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE 5dr Auto (2005)
Range Rover Sport Fan.
I have had the privilege of driving and owning many cars over the years, but after spending a year driving this car, I have to say it’s one of my favourites. I currently split my time between here in the UK and the south of France so I needed a car that would be comfortable to drive for long periods of time and have plenty of room for the wife and kids and the luggage that comes with them, and this car is exactly what I needed. The driving position is perfectly suited to me, Front and rear vision is wonderful, and the quality of the power steering makes the car seem smaller than it actually is. Despite the size of this car it still feels quite nimble and using the sport mode helps in the acceleration stakes, although if you’re a bit of a boy racer and like to leave people behind at the traffic lights then this car isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for a constant stream of power that allows you to cruise along the motorway at 80mph (in France) with the slightest hint of wind noise then this is the car for you.
Fuel consumption is what you would expect from a car of this size and I can get about 27mpg on the motorway and around 21mpg around town. Tax and insurance are also expensive with this car, but if you couldn’t afford it you wouldn’t buy the car in the first place. The interior is as spacious as you would expect from a car of its size although if you have someone tall in the passenger seat you do have to put the seat all the way back slightly limiting the leg room behind. I have only had this problem once or twice and I would have to say that is the only problem I have had with this car. I find the sound system and SatNav great and easy to use. I haven't had any problems with the car so far, and the only cash that I have spent on it was for 2 new tyres and a annual service.
