Merc S500L - A limo for sub-100k

If all you're concerned about is comfort, luxury and performance, then I can't help but recommend my Mercedes S-Class. It sits happily plodding along in towns but then at the flick of your big toe becomes a growling monster for the motorway and A-roads. It really is a bit of a Jekyl and Hyde car.

I went for the S500 variant as it comes with a biblical V8 engine that keeps me feeling a little bit younger. Sure, the mpg is rubbish - if you're lucky you'll get 17mpg - but it provides such a backdrop and such a talking point that you'd be a fool not to want one.

Inside, it's not exactly child proof. There's the most lavish of woods, the most beautiful leather and the most attractive centre console - it really is a great place to sit. People have said a lot about Mercedes' build quality, but I happen to think it's getting better. It rarely goes wrong, and when it does, Mercedes always fix it without any hassle.
