MINI ONE 1.6 2dr [Sport Pack] (2010)

More fun than Clio Ka etc

I've always gone for girly cars, too easy! I had a Clio for a long time, but ditched it in favour of a Ford Ka after about seven trouble free years. BIG MISTAKE. The Ford Ka was a total liability, rusted to bits and fell apart in the meantime. I know this is sposed to be about the MIni One but I want to warn people!

Anyway my current car is the lovely Mini One, it's fun, fun fun. I won't bother comparing it to the Ka, no contest really. The Clio on the other hand, it's better in some ways, worse in others. I think it handles better than the Clio, and it's also much much more powerful, so much of a giggle to drive round especially the little bendy roads round near me.

The main real down side I would say is that the head lights are a bit rubbish. The full beams do the job but you can't keep them on all the time. Actually I do find myself blinding people accidentally sometimes! Not clever, slapped wrist.

Mini drivers are definitely a happy club of campers. We wave at each other! That was more common when these little MInis were rarer. I used to spend a lot of time with my sister in her old Mini One which she got in 2002 I think, and there was a lot of hype about them then, owners were very happy to wave then.

Insurance, tax and petrol costs are all fine, reasonable. I'm a woman, and getting on a bit now! So I can expect the insurance to be quite low though, might be worth shopping around. I don't think enough people think that sort of thing through when buying a car.

The back seats are pretty cramped, but that's to be expected, and anyway I don't often have back passengers. Probably not the car for you if you've got tall people in the back often though.
