PEUGEOT 1007 1.4 Dolce 3dr (2005)
Glorified mobility scooter. And not a very good one.
I've just got rid of my delightful (sarcastic) 1007. It seemed like a good idea at the time and despite not being the worst car in the world, it did have some considerable pitfalls.
First of all the combination is wrong: an engine that's too small in a car that weights too much. So, as you can imagine, power was 'strained' most of the time. You were lucky if you ever got to 60. You can squeeze 40mpg out of it but you should be getting better out of a city-runabout. Having said this, once you're on your way, the ride is actually quite reasonable.
The sliding doors were supposed to be the genius behind this car and yes, they are useful in tight car park spaces but I don't think I could live with them day-in day-out if I had kids, after all, this car is aimed at parents. There are only four seats; again, not a huge problem for me but pretty useless if your family is 'above average capacity'. When I did have people in the back, getting them in was a challenge to say the least, the opening is too small. You can change the colour of the interior trim. Whoopee.
I'd say the Peugeot 1007 is actually quite expensive as well, you do get electric windows and mirrors though but compared to other small cars on offer, I think its quite pricey.
Probably quite a good idea but not very good in the real world where most of us live.
