SMART FORFOUR HATCHBACK 1.1 Black Edition 5dr (2004)

Smart Forfour Black Edition - Not bad but not great

Smarts are weird cars; they look weird, feel weird and often connote weird feelings. They're an odd company, and that's probably what appealed to me when I wanted a new hatch. I couldn't be bothered with the usual hatch legends - so I plumped for the Smart ForFour.

Rubbish name aside, the Smart ForFour is pretty decent. It's got something called Lounge Seating which effectively gives you plenty of space inside for lounging about. The 1.1 engine isn't powerful enough but at least this Smart has a proper gearbox instead of a rubbish flappy paddle like over Smarts.

It's too expensive, however, for what it is. This is basically a standard hatch, but it's priced way over its rivals from BMW and Ford - I was just lucky I got a good deal.

If you want one, go for it, but just remember to haggle and get a far bit of money off, as it WILL depreciate.
