Headline lies alert! That’s right; I’m guilty to making the headline overly excited, as the twin-turbo Insignia isn’t a petrol model. I’m sorry; I know, I know, I know. But don’t despair! As there is still some meat to this non-petrol record, as it’s to do with Vauxhall’s twin-turbo diesel – which has just become the company’s most powerful diesel ever.
With 192bhp and 295lb/ft of torque, the BiTurbo engine is Vauxhall’s most sexual diesel ever, and with both a two-wheel and four-wheel-drive option, the drivers will be spoiled for choice. The power means a 0-60mph time of 8.2 seconds, which may not be as quick as BMW’s diesels, but it’s still probably enough to keep most of the dads in the UK happy.
Prices will start at just over £27k and top out at £33,000.
