Vauxhall’s ‘world-saving’ electric car, the Ampera, is set to be released soon, and Vauxhall has finally given us a list price: £40,000. That’s right; £40k. Ok, so that is for the top-spec Ampera, but still, it’s a huge amount of money!
The price, which is pre £5k government grant, is so high that it’ll be surprising if anyone decides to go for the EV. In a time when we do want to go green but we also want to save money, a £40,000 Ampera is surely just too expensive?
The basic Ampera will still set you back £34,995 (pre-grant), so whichever one you want, it’s going to cost you a pretty penny. Neither-the-less, Vauxhall’s Ampera will be available to buy in the coming weeks, so if you’re feeling flush, here’s your car.
