Unlike its main competitors – Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, BMW – Audi is a relative newcomer to the executive saloon car market. The 1970’s saw Audi introduced to the US market, and four decades on, the German marque has managed to build a following and a reputation that any of the aforementioned would be proud of.

Don't overlook the TT RS and the similarly savage RS3, both vehicles that impress with their sheer effectiveness. The TT in particular looks underpriced at the moment, so bargains are available if you look for them.

With Audi launching models at a dizzying rate, the future looks good for used buyers looking to get into cars like the Q3, A2 and the A7. With some class-leading engine technology, Audi models don't date rapidly. If you've got the funds, it's a very safe home for your money.
