I never really got the point of having limited edition cars. If it's good then just sell loads of them. It doesn't help BMW to have a car that doesn't depreciate much. Actually the BMW Z8 has depreciated quite a bit, which is why I waited about five years before getting one. I found mine with a measly 20 thousand miles on the clock. What was the guy doing, leaving it in the garage and just looking at it? Actually I wouldn't blame him. And it had minimal work done to it over the years. So I got it and loved it for the three years I owned it, only sold it when we started a family, which, I have to admit was a difficult choice lol, but really was worth it in the end (sniff).
The BMW Z8 is practical in many ways too. The boot is pretty big for example, easily gets all of two people golf kit in there, as well as rain gear for a wet day.
Nice and reliable, which is not something you can say for all BMWs! You get in, start the engine, and it works, every time. It doesn't fall to pieces, it gets you from A to B in no time at all, and all in fantastic style.
Actually that might be one of the defining things about the BMW Z8, it just oozes class. I don't know where it is on the top gear "cool wall", don't care really, all I know is that it turned a lot of heads and got a lot of comments, which means it must be pretty cool.
Little down sides.. The stereo had a problem that was easily sorted by the dealer. The turning circle is pretty huge but you get used to that. It's also just quite an odd shape overall if you're used to a 'normal' car, and of course mistakes are expensive! So it takes some practice. Otherwise, just perfection on wheels. I was devastated to get rid of it, and I'll be complaining at my kids about it once they're old enough to understand!
