Versatile and comfortable family car.

Nice to drive. Perfect family car. Clever interior space, [ foldaway middle front seat was very popular with my 9 year old daughter ] . Wife absolutely loves the Honda FRV

Honda FRV - Reliable car for family trips

We got the Honda FR-V as a family of five struggling to shoe-horn our way into an old Mondeo. We looked at other MPVs and weren't really impressed by the idea of having three rows of seats, since it means you can reach the back row of kids, who may be causing mischief! We had heard good things about Honda from a neighbour who had always gone with them, so we got this second hand, although only 1 year old with not much mileage. The first thing to say about the Honda FR-V is that it's much better than the Multipla, which is the only other thing we've seen with this seating arrangement. I know two different people who had one of those and always wished they'd never bothered. The Honda FR-V by comparison is immensely reliable, with just as much space and practicality. The only thing I would say about the seating in the Honda FR-V is that it's just a little bit squeezy when you've actually got six in it, especially as the kids get bigger and bigger. You just end up a little bit too close to the door when there's someone in the middle. We've found the right combination of who to put where, but that'll stop working as they get even bigger. Having said that, we sometimes just get the three kids in the back and put the middle front seat down as a nice armrest. The overall storage space in the Honda FR-V is great. Like I was saying about the six seats on two rows, instead of three rows of seats, it leaves a good sized boot which isn't compromised by opening out more seats. We always get all our groceries in there, which for a family of five plus two dogs is usually a bewilderingly enormous amount. Once or twice we've flipped the back seats down flat to give a really massive space back there, for moving furniture to the tip and that sort of thing. After all that practical stuff, there's a nice range of goodies inside, including really fancy parking sensors that guide you in. Not sure if they're standard or if the previous owner installed them. The only real problem we ever had was quite early on when the battery was going flat quite quickly. The dealer soon sorted that out though, no problems since.
