I wanted a new car on a budget and that's what I got. The Kia Rio has a beautifully low list price and it is an absolute bargain to run. It gets up to 63mpg and is in a lovely low tax and insurance bracket. It's not without faults but I'm really glad I got it.
It's not the best looking car. In fact I'm not sure why Kia didn't just make the Rio look a bit... different. But I'm sure it's to someone's taste. Maybe someone who's particularly fond of eggboxes. It's got a lot of fancy kit in it considering the price you pay for it new, and it's quite nippy.
The Rio is pretty uncomfortable, though, and it's a bit stubborn in its handling. Still, you really get a pretty good deal for your money, and it doesn't seem like the kind of car that's going to give me any problems. A good buy, I say!
The Kia Rio runs smoothly and comfortably, but accelerates very slowly, especially with a full car. This makes it not ideal for urban driving.
Space in the back is compromised due to the large boot. With the front chairs pushed right back (as is needed for me as I am 6ft) it is impossible for anyone to sit behind the driver.
