Lancia has a horrid name in the UK and it's mostly down to this car, the Beta. Lancia built the car terribily; they just didn't take car with it and it subsequently rusted quite badly - something the media jumped on. This left Lancia in a PR disaster moment and they were forced to buy back hundreds of rusty Betas. My Lancia Beta, however, isn't rusty. It's in fairly decent nick considering it's nearly thirty years old. Sure, it coughs a few times in a morning and it can let you down every now and again, but what old car doesn't? It's an attractive Italian car that upholds its dignity until the very end. Many people will laugh that you've bought a 'rust bucket' but at the end of the day, owning a car is more about personalisation than following the crowd.
