Mercedes ML270 Review - I love this car!

My dad owns one of these and I have had the pleasure of driving it a few times. It handles superbly and is extremely comfortable to drive. My dad tells me it is extremely reliable although he has found that some garages will over charge for things thinking he's made of money! If I had the option to buy a Mercedes I would. You get what you pay for. Luxury, comfort and performance!

ML55 AMG **FANTASTIC CAR** ALL THE BOXES TICKED FOR UNDER 10 GRAND!

My first venture into the world of 4x4's was always going to be a knackered old Landy. Living in the sticks meant I needed something "practical" to get out in. The more I thought about it though, the more I realised how I wanted something much quicker and more luxurious to get about in and more importantly, something that wasn't going to be a "project". A tough ask on a limited budget! To cut a long story short, I ended up buying a 2002 ML 55 AMG and I have to say, in terms of boxes ticked, it's the best car i've ever owned. You have to drive it to believe it's incredible performance whilst having the feeling of being in a luxury limo! The car I have has leather heated seats, sat nav, upgraded BOSE sound system, DVD with rear headrest screens, sunroof, climate control, front fog lights, rear privacy glass, side bars, AMG alloys, split folding rear seats and with them both folded down, an amazing amount of space to shift furniture etc. Whilst beating most hot hatches off the line, this car also has a low ratio gear box for off road and in the snow we've been having in recent years, it hasn't put a foot wrong, calmly wafting past everyone else stuck in drifts or spinning arouond. For 10 grand, I can't think of another car that could achieve all this. I can thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants a car that looks good, has awesome performance but still all the practicality of a 4x4. The 5.5L V8 engine also sounds great and the only downside in this day and age is the cost of fuel. At 22mpg it's going to cost more than a Toyota Prius but my mileage is relatively low, so over a year, it doesn;t make a massive difference... And I know who's getting more smiles per gallon!

The ML270 - Affordable Luxury

I bought this car mainly for distance work. motorway driving etc. The first thing that is apparent is the solid build and the feeling of safety. No rattles and simply a touch of luxury. Performance is adequate from the 2.7 ltr diesel engine and mpg is about the same as most 4x4 cars in this class. Inside is luxurious comfort with a nice dashboard layout and the boot area is quite huge even before dropping down the back seats which, ive never had to do yet. Overall, i have been very pleased with my 270 CDi in every aspect.

The best Chelsea tractor there is.

We've had this car for little under a year now and I have to say I cannot imagine owning a better day-to-day car than this. It's luxurious, has the looks, practical, extremely quick considering the size of the car and loads of space for kids’ stuff, not forgetting the dog. What impresses me most about the car is the smoothness of the ride. It feels like what you'd expect an s-class should feel like. It's stupidly quick off the mark - effortless. We've recently had a new addition to the family and the amount of things we need to take when we go to visit our parents, his grandparents, is ridiculous. Yet it all fits in the boot with not a squashed bag in site. You can fit 3 in the back with room to spare. If there is one complaint about this car, it has to be the running costs. Insurance costs an arm and a leg - reminds me of being 18 again, being insured on my 1.2 Clio for the first time. To fill this beast costs around £130. It does around 18 MPG in and around town and you'll be lucky if you get around 30 MPG on the motorway - of course it depends how you drive it - you may get around 34MPG with a bit of 60 MPH cruising, but this car does 100MPH without breaking a sweat and it feels like you're doing 30MPH - why would you want to be driving at 60MPH? Like I said at the start, for an everyday practical car that fits the family and their luggage in... I can’t imagine it getting any better than this.
