Probably the coolest car in the world, and I own one! I only really bought the Boxster because it was so surprisingly cheap! I could have bought something a bit more practical, I admit, but I figured a used Porsche Boxster versus a new Peugeot or something equally snoozeworthy? No contest!
What can I say, it feels great to own it! I love looking at it sitting out there on my drive, waiting for me to climb in and take it for a spin! There's really no better feeling. When you start it up it roars like a baby tiger and when you get it going you can have some real fun just turning a corner.
Now my Porsche Boxster isn't a perfect example as some of the gears stick and to be honest I think this might turn into a proper problem which needs fixing within the year. Also, well, I've got a kid, and my husband is not happy that I now have to choose which one of them I can give a lift. It's a sports car, and you might want to remember that if you actually need a new car! But I can't say I regret buying it. It's so cool.
For anyone who's in the market for a sports car, then I can't help but recommend the Porsche Boxster. I bought mine in 2006 and I haven't even thought about trading it in once. It continues to excite, thrill and seduce even 5 years on.
When you buy a sports car, you basically throw away any practicality. The Boxster is a two-seater - and it makes no apologises for what it is. If you want a big boot, get another car. If you want the ultimate in luxury, get another car. If you want high mpg, get another car. This Boxster is all about adrenline.
The 3.2-litre engine always feels responsive and always performs. It's powerful enough to embarras all hot-hatches but not so strong that it gets you in trouble with plod.
Buy one, buy one, buy one!
