The Proton Wira is a boring car but certainly does the job, and the few repairs it needed have been pretty cheap parts and labour. I'd recommend it, but not if you care at all about what you look like or what sort of 'driving experience' you get or whatever. End of the day it's just a cheap motor that will get you from place to place without complaining. The only problem as far as I'm really concerned is that it uses quite a lot of petrol for the size of it, and as a result of that the tax is a bit higher than I'd like. But I can't really afford to buy another car at the moment. Maybe it's because there are so many better cars out there that the Wira is cheap but it's fine as far as I'm concerned, other drivers are just spoiled by modern gadgets!
Thing is I don't have passengers often so I can't really say what it would be like for other people to be driving in. The back seats look a bit small but they haven't had anyone but my little cousins in them before. They were fine back there, but maybe not their parents if they tried it.
It's got an ok set of little extras in the car though, for what it is. Like call me a bit of a pleb but I was impressed that it had electric windows. The sun roof is pretty cool as well, and it works fine, slides back and forth, what more do you want? Ah it might be better with air conditioning, but I'm not often in the car for that long so it doesn't really matter.
One thing is that when I do drive a long way, and it's not often, I'm a bit achey afterwards. It's not that comfortable for longer journeys, but like I said that's not really important for me.
The only repairs I've done on my Proton Wira have mostly just been ones that the garage has recommended. I don't remember it failing its MOT on me before. I got a radiator from a website and had that fitted, that was fine, and a section of the exhaust I had welded shut, that's been fine since. Tyres I got used and they've been fine. Basically I'm on a budget and the Wira lets me stick to that budget. I don't drive often so the low MPG doesn't really bother me, and it's otherwise pretty reliable and dependable.
