Seat Cordoba 1.6 S 4dr (1999)
Seat Cordoba - Just a basic car

bought my SEAT Cordoba a couple of years ago and at the time I knew nothing about the car. It was purchased in a hurry due to my previous car failing an MOT with many fatal faults that meant it was uneconomical to repair. I needed a new car quick and after a trawl through my local paper my SEAT Cordoba was the only thing available at the time that suited my budget and needs. One thing you do get with the Cordoba is exclusivity, by all accounts the car never sold very well in the UK so as a consequence there aren't many about on our roads. The Cordoba is basically a Saloon version of the SEAT Ibiza and it does feel more spacious than it's more popular cousin. It takes a while to get up to speed but once it's there it will quite happily cruise along with the flow of traffic on the motorway but the plus side of the tame acceleration is that you should get a decent amount of mileage from the Cordoba in between trips to the pump. Like a lot of SEAT's cars the interior feels like it was put together as a bit of an afterthought. It does the job but there is definitely a cheapness about the plastic used and SEAT are not going to be winning any awards for the design of the interior but having said that it's perfectly functional and I'm guessing if you're buying a used car in this price range that functionality is probably more important to you than prettiness. My SEAT Cordoba has been reasonably reliable too, apart from one incident of a broken fan belt she has given me a couple of years of hassle free motoring. All in all what you get from this car is a basic bog standard car that does exactly what it says on the tin. If you are after something to look good in and get from 0 to 60 in under eight seconds then you are definitely looking in the wrong place when looking at the SEAT Cordoba, however if you're looking for a basic car to get you from A to B and that's relatively cheap to run then the Cordoba does tick all those boxes.
