Country & Base – Czech Republic - Mladá Boleslav Key Models:
Netcars Need To Know: Used car buyers looking for great value can't really do much better than go shopping for a Skoda. The range doesn't contain one weak model, there's plenty of used stock and many of the prior models are also well worth owning. There's still a big section of the population whose inherent badge snobbery would preclude owning a Skoda, but while they need a badge to prop up their egos, that leaves some screaming deals for the rest of us. Where to start? It's hard to get it wrong frankly, but we'll kick off with the much-improved Fabia, launched in 2007. These kick off at around £4,000 which nets you one of the best superminis for sale even today. The Roomster might be the most overlooked car in the current line up, and used bargains can be found, with diesel models available from £4,500. Capable of soaking up big mileages, Roomsters had their limelight stolen by the sexier Yeti model but make great used buys. The Yeti is possibly the only Skoda model that isn't undervalued by the trade. There's no direct Volkswagen or SEAT alternative, so demand remains high for tidy used cars. The Octavia is a known quantity, but the vRS models are strongly sought after. The older petrol-engined 1.8T 4x4 models look decent bargains as a cut-price way of keeping going through any winter weather, the coil pack problems that plagued this model long since cured. Finally a word for the Superb. These are too good to leave to airport taxi companies, and both the previous model and the current liftback have plenty of space inside and will run and run. The estates are massive, although you'll still need around £17,000 as an opener to get your name on the registration document.
Never in a million years did I think I’d own a Skoda, never in a billion years did I think I'd write a review saying how good a Skoda is. But here I am, with the Roomster. It does look a bit s...
I bought this car from new and it beat the competition hands down on price. No other manufacturer could offer a 5 door for this price. The only compromise I made was petrol instead of diesel...
My parents make fun of my Skoda Superb a bit, but thankfully I'm a wee bit too young to remember when Skodas were stupid. Now, I'll grant you it's a stupid name for a car, or for anything, sou...
