Netcars Need To Know: Suzuki can normally be guaranteed to bring us some rather unusual little cars where something seems to have been lost in the translation. Remember the Wagon R, the Cappuccino and the X90? Exactly. How about the Baleno? You might need a bit of help with that one. Things have improved in recent years and the current Suzuki line up is probably its strongest ever. It also spells really good news for used car buyers. I make no excuse for starting off with what is the star of the show. The Suzuki Swift Sport is one of the great small hatches and now that a new 2012 model year car has arrived, used bargains are available and with prices starting at around £3,000 for a tidy example, there's little reason why you shouldn't. The Splash supermini is a car that's often overlooked as many buyers prefer the wider dealer backup of its sister car, the Vauxhall Agila. If this isn't such a factor in your buying decision, try hunting a Splash down. It's a fun car and one that's undervalued by the trade. The indestructible Jimny soldiers on and the Grand Vitara has evolved into a very polished product that is also very keen value in the used arena. A final note should be made regarding the Kizashi, a lavishly equipped and very handsome all-wheel drive executive saloon that, due to its 2.4-litre petrol engine and CVT gearbox combination, isn't going to find widespread favour. Those looking for a used bargain in a couple of years time need to remember this model.

For anyone who's under the age of 40, the Swift Sport is just excellent. It's not the best car for people over 6 ft but for anyone under, it's belting. I'd happily recommend one to new drivers...
Suzuki doesn't have a great reputation in the UK, but I really think the Suzuki Swift is doing its best to change that. It is, without question, the company's best effort, and paves the way fo...
