For anybody who is unaware, the Auris is essentially the new Corolla. One thing that shocked me was that this is actually quite an engaging drive for what is quite a bog standard car. It feels very agile in the way it handles and despite being a diesel, it pulls away well with quite a nice exhaust note. The only down side to this is that the driver's seat is not very supportive at all but that's a feature I'm willing to accept for a decent drive.
I think the interior is very well laid out and designed, everything is in the right place and I think it all looks really good as a complete package, the quality is very high. Its an airy cabin with plenty of space for four and five at a push.
We get about 30mpg out of our Toyota Auris which I think is reasonable considering it offers you a fairly good drive if you want to take it. If you want to maximise your efficiency, there is a light on the dash which tells you when to change gear but this hasn't made a massive difference to our economy and it can also become quite slow and tedious.
Equipment list is also very good, has a really good hi-fi system.
