Really economical considering it packs a punch.
Very easy to maintain, servicing is not too expensive either.
This is my mid-life crisis mobile. At least I admit it. I wanted something impressive looking and sporty feeling, and I don't earn a lot so it was either this or a Mazda MX5 or something like that. But I went for the Toyota MR-2 and I'm very glad I did.
I don't really see the practical difference between the MR-2 and Porsche to be honest. My Toyota MR-2 is great fun, it goes really fast on the motorway and it handles like a dream. It looks great and it's got a really comfortable interior. What's the difference? You can only go 70mph, so even if a Porsche has a higher top speed, you can't reach it without being arrested, so it might as well not have it.
Of course the wife moans because there's hardly any room in the car but it's a sporty little thing so I think that the great looks and ride more than make up for the sacrificed practicality. It's been really reliable so far but of course the fuel economy isn't great. Simply put, it makes me happy.
