Vauxhall Calibra 2.0i 16V 3dr [LT] (1990)
Vauxhall Calibra - Getting old but still working

Hi, my name's Trevor and I own a Vauxhall Calibra. I had it since 2001 and it's been a faithful friend. We've been through thick and thin together - it really has become one of the family. It's definetely showing it's age now. There are some tears in the cloth, some marks on the paint and the dash is falling apart a little, but it's not enough for me to get rid of it. It's passed every MOT since I bought it and has cost me less than £1200 in repair bills - which, over ten years, isn't that bad. A really entertaining car that can be a little unreliable but with bags of character.

Vauxhall Calibra 2.5i V6 3dr (1993)
Vauxhall V6 Calibra 2.5i

The V6 2.5i Calibra has the best engine in this range and is, without doubt, the one to go for if you're interested in this now classic sports coupé that offers performance with great practicality, low running costs as well as decent fuel economy for this type of vehicle. I've driven two cars of this type for 12 years and both have always been a pleasure. Hardly anything of note has ever gone wrong with it. If you look after the basics, a V6 Calibra can still reward you with years of trouble free motoring - IF you can find one that's been looked after! There won't be too many around now that are in original condition so if you like the looks of this car, there is nothing else like it that you can buy for the same price. It's fast and still surprises other road users who don't realise its' capabilities. Despite being a Coupe, it's not impossible for 3 passengers to occupy the rear seats and I literally couldn't find any alternative Sports Coupe that provided the same amount of space that I needed with the seats down to carry equipment. The interior for both cars I drove was full leather and of excellent quality and comfort. Some people like to criticise its' handling. I never had a problem with this, perhaps because I didn't want to use it like a rally car! Overall, if you can find a good example, a V6 Calibra is definitely worth considering.
