The VW Lupo is a cheap nippy little car that is also fun to drive, however storage space is on the small side and it may be too noisy for some on the motorway. The Lupo was introduced in 1999 to accommodate the niche part of the market that was becoming controlled by such cars as the Ford Ka and Fiat Seicento. It served as the smallest car VW offered and was manufactured until 2005. A fire breathing VW Lupo GTi was the pick of the bunch, with high praise and comparisons to the original Golf GTi. • the VW Lupo steering is very precise and the car corners very well; • the 1.0-litre engine suffers from noise in the cabin; • the rear seating is on the cramped side so only suitable for small children; • the boot is very small with only enough room for overnight bags; • there is a lack of storage in the cabin; • even the basic VW Lupo models come with power steering and airbags for driver and passenger; • seating adjustment is excellent so comfort is no problem; • remote central locking and deadlocks are fitted on the VW Lupo; • owners have reported minor problems with the gearbox and catalytic converter; • the 1.0-litre model is the cheapest but lacks equipment. The VW Lupo may be an ideal choice for a couple; however, the lack of space in the back means it may not be a suitable option for families. We hope that you find your perfect VW Lupo on netcars.co.uk
